Dig Diary 2006
SEASONS IN THE SUN 2006
During the summer of 2006, Dyfed Archaeological Trust
will be carrying out several important excavations in various
parts of southwest Wales. We intend to provide regular updates
from all these excavations through our ‘dig diary’.
The relevant diary pages will be updated every Tuesday and
Friday afternoon between the middle of July and the end of
August.

Dyfed Archaeological Trust will
once again be undertaking an excavation of the early
medieval cemetery at West Angle Bay in southwest Pembrokeshire.
Although there will not be a formal open day, members
of the public are welcome to view the excavations in
progress. The site has very easy access and is located
on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path just above the beach.

During August
2006, Dyfed Archaeological Trust is undertaking a four-week
excavation of an early medieval cemetery adjacent to
a Bronze Age barrow on the Castlemartin Army Training
Estate in southwest Pembrokeshire. The work is being
undertaken in response to severe damage being caused
to the cemetery by badger activity and it is being funded
Ministry of Defence.
