Gaer, Llandygwydd 2009
Gaer is a circular, earthwork enclosure c.45m-diameter.
Its name and character suggest a defensive site, but there is no surface
evidence for an entrance or surrounding ditch. A geophysical survey demonstrated
the presence of both. It is possibly a medieval earthwork castle, but
more likely to be an Iron Age defended homestead.
